The Official Plymouth visitors and tourism website
Visit Plymouth is run and maintained by Plymouth Council in the Tourism and Events office. They work with local businesses to promote events, happenings, places, and attractions and engage with audiences on social media.
It is their vision that Plymouth will be the UK's premier marine city and famous for its Waterfront. It will be recognised as unique among UK cities for its natural drama and for its 500-year-old history as a place of embarkation and exploration. Plymouth's continuing journey toward a world-leading marine city will support the cultural experiences it offers to visitors who are looking for authenticity and character.
Rain or shine, Plymouth, Britain's Ocean City, is home to breathtaking views, plenty to see and do and lots of fresh sea air. Its maritime heritage and historic Barbican district with narrow, cobbled streets are known for its maritime heritage. Sutton Harbour is home to the National Marine Aquarium, where sharks and rays glide in a deep tank. Also in the harbour are several marinas and a fish market, the Plymouth Fisheries. The Mayflower Steps are where the Pilgrim Fathers set sail for the New World in 1620.
