During their history, Wales has qualified for three major international tournaments. Wales in the World Cup - they reached the quarter-finals of the 1958 FIFA World Cup and in 2022 and the semi-finals of UEFA Euro 2016. The team play their games at Cardiff City Stadium.

The Wales National Football Team has achieved significant milestones, particularly in recent years, that have elevated their status on the global stage. One of their most notable accomplishments was reaching the semi-finals of UEFA Euro 2016, their first major tournament appearance in 58 years, where they captivated the world with their spirited performances, including a historic victory over Belgium.

Led by standout players like Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey, Wales also qualified for UEFA Euro 2020, advancing to the Round of 16. In 2022, they made history again by qualifying for the FIFA World Cup for the first time since 1958, a monumental achievement for the team and its passionate supporters. These successes have firmly established Wales as a formidable presence in international football, inspiring pride and enthusiasm throughout the nation.

Getting to The Cardiff City Stadium from Future Inn Cardiff

By Car

The Cardiff City Stadium is a 10-minute taxi ride from Future Inn Cardiff. Parking is available for away fans for £10 per car. Spaces are limited, so it is recommended that you arrive early.

By Bus

The number 1 City Circle bus goes from in front of County Hall a 5-minute walk from the hotel and takes you directly to Leckwith Close, a 2-minute walk to the Cardiff City Stadium.

By Train

The Cardiff Bay train station is a 5-minute walk from the hotel and takes you to Cardiff Queen Street. You need to change trains and head to Grangetown or Ninian Park station (recommended), a further 5-minute walk to the Cardiff City Stadium.

By Bike

It would then take approximately 15 minutes to cycle to the Cardiff City Stadium. Future Inn Cardiff is a cycle-friendly hotel, and we allow guests to keep bikes in their rooms with cycle mats supplied.

On Foot

It would take around 45 minutes to walk via Sloper Road from the hotel.
