Are you a fan of Theatre? Then you may want to take a look at the shows coming to The Bristol Hippodrome.
It is one of the country's top, family-friendly provincial theatres, which proudly welcomes major West End Productions and Broadway shows to their stage.
Situated in the centre of Bristol, the theatre has seating on three levels giving a capacity of 1,951. It frequently features shows from London's West End, regular visits by the Welsh National Opera, and an annual pantomime.
The theatre opened in 1912 and has since been listed as a Grade II building. An important feature when it opened was a huge water tank at the front of the stage, which could be filled with 450,000 litres of water. Along with the tank was a large protective glass screen that could be raised to protect the orchestra and those in the stalls. It also has a dome, which can be opened when necessary - since air conditioning has been installed, this is rarely opened.
The Bristol Hippodrome has something for everyone; whether you prefer musicals, ballet, opera, concerts, comedians or children’s shows, the venue’s comprehensive programme is likely to have something that takes your fancy.
